Ireland was a very spontaneous trip for us. Rick’s alma mater, Penn State, was playing a game in Dublin, so we decided to book a last minute trip to the land of Irish. We flew into Dublin, rented a car and drove to a little village north of Shannon called Maum. We stayed there for several days then headed south to the coast village of Bantry. We ended our trip back in Dublin at the football game. During those two weeks we drove over 2,000 kilometers, driving the Wild Atlantic Way, sightseeing in Dingle, driving to remote lighthouses, and exploring some of the most isolated places on the Island. Ireland is such a beautiful country, with an amazing landscape and very friendly people. Even a 3 day rainstorm did not stop us from going out and admiring the beautiful Irish scenery.
